For the second straight season and the 10th time in school history, the Dubuque Senior Ram boys basketball tournament is headed to the state tournament.
Last night the Rams avenged a 2 point home loss at the end of the regular season against Cedar Rapids Prairie by defeating the Hawks 64-55 at Nora Gym in the 4A Substate 5 final. The Rams were led by Tevin Schultz with 17 points on a night where the junior scored career point number 1000. The game was tight throughout tied 26-26 at half but the Rams surged ahead in the 3rd quarter to lead by five after 3 quarters and then pulled away down the stretch.
Senior now 17-and-6 will play Monday at Wells Fargo Arena against a team to be determined after two of the 8 substate games were postponed last night due to the weather and those games are re-scheduled to be played tonight.
