The Dubuque Fire Department is mourning the loss of former Fire Chief Dan Brown.
The 68-year old Brown who was a native Dubuquer, died Friday following a brief illness. Brown began his career with the Dubuque Fire Department in 1982 and eventually ascended to the position of Fire Chief in 1996 and continued as the chief until his retirement in 2014.
The Leonard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements where a visitation and services will be held this Friday.
