It’s District Tournament day tomorrow in Iowa High School Wrestling
24 wrestlers in each weight class in all three classes advance to the state tournament starting this Wednesday at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
In Class 3A, there will be eight districts state-wide, with the top three finishers at each weight advancing to state. In Class 2A and 1A, there will be 12 district sites with the top two finishers qualifying for state.
In Class 3A: Hempstead and Senior will travel to the District 3 meet at Cedar Rapids Jefferson while Western Dubuque travels to the District 1 meet at Bettendorf
In Class 2A: Wahlert and Maquoketa will head to District 8 at Independence. Due to concerns about the weather, officials moved the meet to today (Friday) at 2:00pm.
In Class 1A: Beckman Catholic, Cascade, Bellevue, and Clayton Ridge wrestlers will be at the District 5 meet at MFL Mar-Mac.
