One Injury Caused By East Dubuque Brush Fire

AP FIRE GENERAL

The East Dubuque Fire Department battled a brush fire for nearly two hours yesterday and one person had to be taken to the hospital.  Shortly before noon on Tuesday, fire crews were called to fire near the railroad tracks along Highway 20 and Barge Terminal Road.

An employee from nearby T & T Iron Works suffered smoke inhalation and had to be taken to Finley Hospital in Dubuque for treatment.

An Investigation determined the fire was accidental and was caused by burning pallets and other debris earlier in the morning and embers that caught the vegetation in the area on fire when the wind picked up.
