Trial For Chicago Man Charged With 2 Counts Attempted Murder Postponed To Later This Year

The trial date for Chicago man who has pled not guilty to two counts attempted murder for a shooting incident in Dubuque in 2022 has been pushed back to later this year.Tavon Baylock

The trial for 25-year old Tavon Baylock which was set to begin today in Dubuque County District Court is now scheduled to being April 1st.

Baylock is charged in an alleged drive by shooting incident which occurred on the evening of June 23rd, 2022 in the area of West 23rd Street and Central Avenue. Police say Baylock was in one vehicle and fired several shots from a handgun at two men in another vehicle. Neither of the men was injured. Bullet holes were found throughout the vehicle and also in some neighborhood buildings. Traffic camera footage helped authorities identify Baylock as the shooter.
