Dubuque to Hold 2025 Iowa Special Olympic Winter Games

Over 256 Special Olympic athletes will be competing in this year’s edition of the Iowa Special Olympic Winter Games in Dubuque next week. The 37th Winter Games will officially kick-off with opening ceremony this Monday evening at 6 o’clock which will include the Parade of Athletes and the lighting of the Flame of Hope. The Special Olympics will be hosted by the Grand Harbor Resort and Sundown Mountain and will feature events such as alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and many more activities.

The various competitions will start Monday at 12:30pm at Sundown and will continue until the 14th, ending at 2:30pm. The events are open to the public and everyone is invited to go out and support the athletes.
