City Council Approves Renovation Work At Ruby Sutton Building

The second floor of the Ruby Sutton Building in downtown Dubuque will be getting a renovation.

Last night at the Dubuque City Council meeting, the council voted unanimously to award a construction bid of nearly $1 million dollars to Portzen Construction of Dubuque.  The 2nd floor will be home of the newly created Community Impact Department. The renovation work is scheduled to begin next month with a target date of July for completion.

The Council also voted to award the contract for the Iowa Amphitheater on Schmitt Island to Conlon Construction of Dubuque for a total cost of just over 9.2 million dollars, much of the funding is coming from the Vision Iowa Grant program.

The Council also voted to adopt the Chaplain Schmitt Island Development plan.
