Later this week, two Tri-State area high school football teams will be playing for state championships for the first time in their history.
The (12-0) Wahlert Golden Eagles will play for the Iowa Class 3A State title this Friday afternoon when they meet (11-1) Humboldt at 1 o’clock at the UNI-Dome. On Thursday morning at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Potosi/Cassville (13-0) will play for the Division 7 crown when they meet (12-1) Edgar, kickoff will be at 10 o’clock. Potosi-Cassville punched their ticket to the title game on Friday when they topped Kenosha Saint Joseph 26-15 in Madison.
