Two Arrested And Charged In Downtown Dubuque Stabbing

A Sherrill man has been charged with attempted murder and a Dubuque man has also been charged in a stabbing in the downtown area.

Dubuque Police say shortly after 2 Saturday morning, the were called to the intersections of Main and 9th Streets and found 21-year-old Hunter Guyon of Dubuque suffering from serious stab wounds to his abdomen area.

Police say the investigation shows Guyon and several other people were walking on Main St. when a vehicle pulled up and a verbal altercation took place between those in the vehicle and Guyon, along with the others he was with.  The vehicle eventually drove away, but came back and this time a passenger jumped out of the vehicle and stabbed Guyon.

With assistance from traffic camera footage, police were able to identify and charge 22-year-old Gabriel Dominguez with attempted murder and going armed with intent. The driver identified as 22-year-old Scott Wessels was charged with Accessory After the Fact.

Both Domingez and Wessels were arrested in Jo Daviess County and are awaiting extradition to Dubuque.
