Trial Postponed For Dubuque Man Charged With Taking Jewelry From Elderly Mother

The trial date has been postponed until next year for a Dubuque man charged with allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in jewelry from his mother and then selling it to pawn shops in Dubuque.douglas winner

51-year old Douglas Winner, who is charged with first degree theft against an older individual,  was scheduled to stand trial next week, will now go to trial February 18th in Dubuque County District Court.

In April, police charged Winner following an investigation which began after his mother reported to authorities she had been noticing jewelry missing from her home. The 17 pieces of missing jewelry was valued at well over $10-thousand dollars and perhaps as much as 35-thousand. Police say their investigation showed the jewelry was sold to two different Dubuque pawn shops.
