The Platteville Police Department is investigating after a body was found in a wooded area of the city on Monday night.
The police department says two people reported finding what they thought were human remains. Officers responding to the area did find a person’s body and the area was secured.
Members of the Wisconsin Department of Forensic Sciences, Crime Scene Response unit were asked to assist in the investigation and processed the scene yesterday.
The Platteville Police Department say they are still determining who the individual is and how they died. Anyone with information on this death investigation is asked to call the Platteville Police Department.
