A well-known area former athlete, teacher, and businessman recently passed away.
85-year old Terry Harris, a 1956 grad of Dubuque Senior and a member of the Senior Athletic Hall of Fame died Saturday.
Harris was a multi-sport athlete at Senior High before going on to play college athletics at Drake University and the University of Dubuque.
During his teaching career which spanned 38 years, Harris was a science and P.E. teacher at both Washington and Jefferson Junior High in Dubuque, he also was a referee for numerous sports during his career.
In 1979, Harris co-founded S and H Golf Cars which has since become Harris Golf Cars which serves Dubuque and four states.
Visitation will be held this Sunday from 3 to 7 at Westminster Presbyterian Church. A private funeral service will be held later this year.
