It is Primary Election Day in Wisconsin

Races on the ballot include selecting a Democrat to face Republican U.S. Representative Derrick Van Orden, in western Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District, which includes Grant County. Rebecca Cooke, Katrina Shankland and Eric Wilson are running.

Also today voters 2nd Congressional District will be selecting a Republican to face Democrat U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin. Madison businessman Eric Hovde faces nominal opposition. The two are expected to go head-to-head in November.

Voters also will decide on a pair of proposed constitutional amendments that would strip the governor’s office, whoever holds it, of the authority to distribute federal funds and give it instead to the state Legislature.
