A Dubuque native is taking over as the next CEO at Boeing. The aerospace company says Robert “Kelly” Ortberg, a 1982 graduate of the University of Iowa has been tapped to serve the company’s leadership role.
Ortberg, who is 65-year old, has worked in the aerospace industry for 35 years. He’s previously served as president and CEO of Rockwell Collins, now Collins Aerospace.
Boeing Chairman Steven Mollenkopf said Ortberg was chosen after a “thorough and extensive search process” and “has the right skills and experience to lead Boeing in its next chapter.
Ortberg’s first day on the job will be this Thursday.
