A Dubuque woman was taken to the hospital after being hit by a vehicle while crossing the street.
Dubuque Police say the incident happened yesterday morning around 8:15 on University Avenue at the stop light crossing near the Westminster Presbyterian Church. Authorities say 42 year old Tara Sweeney was crossing in the crosswalk when a vehicle driven by 54-year old Michael Lacey of Galena failed to stop at the red light and hit her. Sweeney was taken by ambulance to Finley Hospital for minor injuries including a possible broken arm.
Lacey was charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian and failing to stop at the red light.
