A District Court Judge has once again said a Dubuque man charged in the murder of his mother is competent to stand trial.
Yesterday Judge Thomas Bitter denied a defense motion for 28-year old Tyler Dazey to be ruled incompetent to stand trial in the death of 46-year old Jennifer Dazey in January at the home they shared on Avoca Street.
Dazey has pleaded not guilty to a charge first degree murder, and his trial is scheduled to begin July 16th in Dubuque County District Court.
Another defense request to have the trial moved out of Dubuque was denied. Attorneys said too much public attention around the case would keep Dazey from having a fair trial.
