The National Weather Service says it’s a good idea to monitor the weather this afternoon and tonight with a round of severe weather possible. Forecasters say it all depends on the CAP.
The Weather Service says there is a LOW chance the “CAP” which is described as a layer of warm air aloft will erode this afternoon or evening. If this happens; any storms that develop would likely become severe.
The Storm Prediction Center says much of the Tri-State area has a level 3 of 5 or enhanced risk of seeing severe weather, some areas mainly to the north of Dubuque have moderate risk or level 4 of 5 chance.
Forecasters add any storm that does develop could produce damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes; some strong!
