A north central Iowa man, formerly of Dubuque had died in a kayaking accident on the Iowa River in Iowa Falls.
On Saturday, the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department identified 34-year old Levi Mentz of Iowa Falls as the man whose body was recovered from the river.
Authorities say shortly before noon on Friday they received a 9-1-1 call reporting a man had become separated from a kayak that he had been in, shortly before 11 on Friday night the missing man’s body later identified as Mentz was found.
