Several Dubuque County fire departments were called to a barn fire east of New Vienna.
Around 9:15 Friday night, fire crews from New Vienna, Holy Cross, Farley, and Dyersville went to the Charlie and Carrie Deutmeyer farm at 28-131 Bankston Road. When crews arrived the barn was fully engulfed in flames. The Deutmeyer’s were not at home at the time of the fire.
There were no injuries; damage was estimated at 150-thousand dollars. An unknow number of livestock were injured. The fire was ruled not to be suspicious and is under investigation.
