Dubuque Police say they are investigating a school threat made to Hempstead High School. Around 1:10 yesterday afternoon, police received a report of a suspicious phone call placed to Hempstead.
As a precaution it forced a lockdown of the campus and officers coordinated with Dubuque Community School District staff to provide an elevated level of security for students and staff through dismissal time.
Police say based on the preliminary investigation, the threat did not seem credible.
