The Dubuque Community School Board met earlier this week in special meeting to award renovation contracts for projects at two elementary schools.
A project at Irving Elementary to replace the boiler system and air condition the entire building was awarded to Conlon Construction for a bid of $6-million-80 thousand dollars.
Renovation projects at Eisenhower Elementary including adding a new gym, several classrooms, expanding the kitchen, and creating a secure entrance was awarded to TriCon Construction Group for a bid of $8-million-17-thousand dollars.
Work at Eisenhower is expected to begin before the school year ends while work at Irving is scheduled to start this summer. The district says both renovations should be completed August 2026.
