It’s an election day in Wisconsin and Illinois.
Polls in Wisconsin open at 7 in the morning and close at 8 in the evening.
Polls in Illinois are open from 6 in the morning and close at 7 in the evening.
Some of the things being voted on locally include:
- Voters in the Cuba City School District deciding on an operating referendum which asks voters to approve a five-year, non-recurring measure that would increase operating revenue through 2029. Revenue would increase by $900,000 in 2025-2026, $1.3 million in 2026-2027, $1.5 million in 2027-2028, $1.7 million in 2028-2029 and $1.9 million in 2029-2030. The ballot measure also provides for a 2.5% staff pay bump. Similar measures have been rejected two other times.
- Voters in the city of Platteville are being asked whether the city should borrow up to $6.9 million dollars to construct a new aquatic center.
- Statewide in Wisconsin, voters are deciding whether or not a photo I.D. should be required for voting in an election.
There are several races for seats in city government on area school boards as well.
