Dubuque City Manager Mike Van Milligen was hospitalized after being run into by an intoxicated driver in downtown Dubuque.
Dubuque Police say shortly before 10 o’clock last night, Van Milligen and a passenger in his vehicle both had just opened the vehicle doors to get out and at the same time another vehicle being driven by a man later identified as 34-year-old Christopher Higgins of Dubuque slammed into both vehicle doors and struck Van Milligan.
Van Milligen was taken by ambulance to Mercy One Medical Center for treatment of injuries including a broken knee cap. There is no other information on Van Milligen’s condition.
Police say Higgins then drove away and the vehicle was found on Aerostar Drive with Higgins inside and unconscious. He now faces numerous traffic related charges.
