Property taxes for Dubuque homeowners will be going up following action last night the Dubuque City Council. The council unanimously gave their stamp of approval by setting the maximum property tax levy for fiscal year 2026 at $10.06 per $1,000 of taxable value, which is a 1-point 38 percent increase over fiscal year 2025.
The hike means the average Dubuque homeowner would pay $33 dollars more and allows the city to raise nearly 30 million dollars in property tax revenue.
