Severe Weather Awareness Week

This is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Iowa. Dubuque County Emergency Management along with Iowa Homeland Security, and the National Weather Service are joining together to promote severe storm safety.

Each day will highlight the importance of being aware of different aspects of weather safety.

  • Monday-Lightning Safety
  • Tuesday-Tornado Safety
  • Wednesday- Preparedness
  • Thursday-Hail and Wind Safety
  • Friday-Flood Safety

On Wednesday morning, starting at 10 o’clock, the county will participate in the annual statewide tornado drill. During the drill, outdoor warning sirens will be sounded. During this time you are asked to participate by consider your plan of action if an actual storm warning were issued.
