The Grant County Sheriff has released details about an accident yesterday morning where three vehicles slid into the ditch on southbound Highway 151/61 near the entrance to the Wisconsin/Iowa Bridge.
Authorities say and SUV driven by 32-year old Kyaira Benoit of Platteville slid out of control due to hail covering the road, went into the ditch and stuck a large metal highway sign. With traffic backing up, another vehicle driven by 33-year old Mason Hullerman of Lancaster slid into the rear of another vehicle driven by 29-year old Anthony Canfora of Madison. All three driver suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospitals in Dubuque and Platteville for treatment.
The Sheriff says due to weather conditions yesterday, Grant County deputies responded to 1 personal injury crash, 3 property damage crashes, and 8 vehicle sliding off the road with no damage done.
