NABC And D3 Hoops Awards Annouced

Both the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and D3hoops.com released their All-District / All-Region teams for men’s basketball yesterday.

UW Platteville Senior Logan Pearson  was named both NABC District 4 Player of the Year and D3hoops.com Region 9 Player of the Year. Pioneers head coach Jeff Gard was tabbed NABC District 4 Coach of the Year as well.

Pearson earned the pair of District and Region Player of the Year awards for the second consecutive year in addition to First Team recognition from both the NABC and D3hoops.com. The WIAC Player of the Year averaged a conference-high 19.8 points per game and became just the eighth player in WIAC history to surpass 2,000 career points.

Gard collects his second postseason award after being tabbed WIAC Coach of the Year in early March. The 16th-year head coach guided the Pioneers to both the WIAC regular season and conference tournament titles for the second consecutive season and finished with a 26-3 overall record

University of Dubuque senior Jaylin McCants was named NABC District 9 First Team and D3hoops.com Region 4 First Team. McCants  is now a two-time D3hoops.com All-Region 4 selection. He is earned his first career NABC All-District First Team selection. McCants averaged 19.8ppg, 7.7rpg.
