Eastern Iowa Woman Takes Plea Deal In Human Trafficking Case

An Eastern Iowa woman charged with human trafficking a Dubuque teenager has pleaded guilty to three counts of prostitution and conspiracy to commit prostitution.

Tana Torres of Hiawatha will spend up to 8 years in prison. Police say Torres and Jarod Anderson also of Hiawatha, picked up the teenage girl in Dubuque last July and forced her into prostitution. Last month, a jury found Anderson guilty of human trafficking, sexual abuse, sexual exploitation of a minor, pimping, and prostitution.

Torres testified in the case against Anderson, saying she was a victim of Anderson’s, adding he targeted women from different cities who were at a low point in their life. Anderson faces life in prison in the case.
