The City of Dubuque is alerting residents to fraudulent text messages being received by some people lately.
Several residents report having received texts seeking to collect a fee owed or face a court summons. The city says they do not attempt to collect fees via text messages so if you receive a similar message to report it to your mobile phone carrier as spam and delete the message.
