Yesterday the National Weather Services in the Quad Cities released spring flood outlook number 2 for the area.

Not much has changed since the first outlook earlier this month. The report says the spring flood risk is below normal for the Mississippi River, and near to below normal for local tributary rivers.

The Weather Services says most factors contributing to flooding, including soil moisture, snowpack and frost depth point to a decreased threat of spring flooding.

They add additional precipitation events in the upper Mississippi basin will be the main factors determining the severity of flooding this spring.
