The trial date for two men charged with attempted murder for a stabbing in late October in downtown Dubuque has been postponed.
22-year old Gabriel Dominguez of Sherrill and 22-year old Scott Wessels of Dubuque have both pled not guilty to a charge of attempted murder and were scheduled to go to trial next week in Dubuque County District Court. Their trial dates have now been moved to April 22nd.
Dominguez allegedly stabbed 21-year old Hunter Guyon of Dubuque near the intersections of 9th and Main Streets during the early morning hours of October 26th last year.
Wessels was driving the vehicle in which Dominquez was riding in and according to Iowa Law can be charged even if he was not the person who carried out the crime.
Police say Dominguez got out of a vehicle and stabbed Guyon who was walking with a group of other people along Main Street. Guyon sustained serious stab wounds to his abdomen area in the attack
