Northeast Iowa Community College has announced a new addition being added to their Peosta campus which will provide students with hand-on-experience in cutting-edge technologies aligned with Industry 4-point-0 principles.
Industry 4-point-0, also known as the Fourth Industrial Revolution, represents the integration of advanced technologies into manufacturing processes to create smarter, more efficient and interconnected systems.
School officials say the new lab will play a vital role in keeping both the local workforce and the broader manufacturing sector competitive in a rapidly evolving manufacturing landscape.
NICC says $704-thousand dollar lab is expected to be completed by the start of the upcoming fall semester. The project is being funded by the State of Iowa Accelerated Career Education Program.
