At the Iowa High School State Wrestling Tournament in Des Moines, 4 Dubuque Hempstead wrestlers and 1 from Western Dubuque advanced to the 3A quarterfinals after first and second round action yesterday.
The four Hempstead wrestlers include:
- Abe Heysinger at 106
- Mitchell Pins at 120
- Mitchell Murphy at 132
- Camden Smith at 215
From Western Dubuque advancing to the quarterfinals was
- Joe Hirch at 157

In Class 2A: All three Wahlert wrestlers, Brody Schmidt, Wil Welbes, and Aidan Jenaman won first round matches, but lost in the second round to drop into the consolation round.
Tayden Howell of Maquoketa won twice to advance to the quarterfinals at 106.

In Class 1A, two area wrestlers stayed on the championship side of the bracket to advance to the quarterfinals this afternoon.
