A Dubuque man is in jail on several charges including human trafficking. 52-year old Kenneth Bienash was arrested by Dubuque Police on Friday morning on charges of human trafficking someone under the age of 18, two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of third-degree sexual abuse.
Police started their investigation of Bienash late last year after a woman contacted them reporting her daughter had been sexually abused by a man she had met while on the internet. Police say they used phone records which showed the girl going to the area around Bienash’s home several times and found vulgar messages and materials were shared between them online. Bienash is also accused of giving money to the girl in exchange for sexual favors and materials.
Under new Iowa law, human trafficking a minor is now punishable by a life in prison sentence if convicted.
