At its meeting this week, the Dubuque Park and Recreation Commission decided to allow public input on the idea of revising the city’s ordinance allowing dogs in more public parks in the city.
Currently leashed dogs and cats are permitted in most Dubuque parks, parkways, trails, and open spaces. The City Council is considering revising the ordinance to allow them in the city’s two most popular parks Eagle Point and Murphy Park where they are currently not allowed.
The commission’s next meeting will be March 11th where there will be a chance to speak for and against the proposal. Residents can also share their thoughts from now until that meeting in the Contact Us link on the City of Dubuque website.
