After a two day trial, a Dubuque County jury has acquitted a former Dubuque police officer on charges of domestic assault.
28-year old Tyler Breitbach of Peosta had been charged with two counts of domestic assault and one count of violating a no-contact order. The violation of a no-contact order was dismissed.
Breitbach was arrested last May after a woman also employed by the city of Dubuque reported he had assaulted her twice in the summer of 2023.
