A consultant for the University of Dubuque says the economic impact of the proposed John and Alice Butler College of Osteopathic Medicine could eventually exceed $60 million annually once the school reaches projected peak enrollment in the next decade.

Frampton says the college is on track to welcome its first 90 students in August 2028 and will need 250 faculty and staff, including a dean. Frampton says a downtown location for the school has been secured and will be announced soon.
The John and Alice Butler College of Osteopathic Medicine is named in recognition of a $60 million donation from the Butlers.
