Dubuque Man Threatens To Shoot Police Officer After His Arrest

jail prison sentence arrest

A Dubuque man is in jail following a threat to shoot an arresting police officer.  The incident happened last night when police were trying to serve three active warrants on 60-year old Jeffrey Crawford at his apartment on Ellis Street.  One of the warrants was for assault with a dangerous weapon from an incident occurring Sunday night.

According to police, Crawford ignored several requests to inform him of the  warrants and eventually officers made forced entry into the apartment and placed him under arrest.

Authorities say while Crawford was at the Law Enforcement Center he threatened to shoot one of the arresting officers which earned him charges of interference with official acts and first degree harassment.
