This week the Dubuque City Council officially adopted the future vision for the Central Avenue and White Street corridor from downtown to the North End, choosing the modest revisions plan. Dubuque Mayor Brad Cavanaugh.
The plan calls for street parking to be removed on the left side of Central and White making way for wider sidewalks, trees and a bicycle track. Traffic lanes also would be narrowed.
The first phase of a six phase timeline for the estimated $20-million dollar project is scheduled for 2026 or 2027 with hopes the entire project would be completed by 2037.
