A man was arrested on charges of attempted armed robbery with a blow torch in southwest Wisconsin yesterday afternoon.
According to the Iowa County Sheriff, Lee Justin Kaul is in jail on charges of Attempted Armed Robbery, Bail Jumping, and False Imprisonment.
Authorities say a man wearing a hat and mask entered the Subway Restaurant on Highway 23 in Dodgeville around 4 o’clock, locked the door of the building and then removed the blow torch from under his coat and approached a staff member, the man reportedly took of the mask, said he was only kidding, and left. Dodgeville Police then investigated and identified Kaul as the man and he was arrested.
