Trial Date For Dubuque Man Charged With Armed Robbery Moved

One of the people charged in the robbery of a man at gunpoint in downtown Dubuque last summer has had his trial date moved to next month.

24-year old Tanaveius Shropshire of Dubuque who is charged with first degree robbery is now scheduled to go to trial February 18th.

Shropshire is one of four people charged in the robbery of Logan Wilhelm of Preston during the early morning hours of June 30th. Wilhelm told police, a woman, later identified as 21-year old Abigail Smith gave him a ride from a downtown bar and drove him to the area of West 16th and Catherine streets where he then was stuck on the head and robbed by a group of men.

Smith is also charged with first degree robbery and is awaiting trial scheduled for next week. Another man charged with first degree robbery, 24-year old Keshawn Murphy has a plea hearing scheduled for January 27th.

The fourth person charged, 21-year old Jakobe Jones pled guilty in November to charges of Accessory After the Fact and was sentenced to two years of probation.
