New Cascade Library Opening Soon

NEWS TRI STATE

Cascade’s new library is set to open soon. An estimated $1.2 million was raised by local donors, businesses and private individuals for this $3.5 million dollar project.

Library Director Melissa Kane says she would like the library to offer more than books, such as tire pressure gages, engine code readers, and even fishing poles to help people avoid buying items they would only use in special circumstances. Kane is hoping that the new library will be handed over to the city by the end of January, which will allow the transition to the new building to begin.

A shutdown of the current library will happen in late February for roughly two weeks, to complete to move.
