One person has died and three others were injured in a three vehicle accident yesterday afternoon in Dubuque County. The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened shortly before 4:30 on Highway 52 South at the intersection of Kemp Road, just south of Key West.
According to authorities two of the vehicles collided head-on while the third vehicle collided with one of the others after the first collision.
None of the names of those involved are being released until later today. A 36-year old driver of one of the vehicles was taken to MercyOne Medical Center where they were pronounced dead. The 52-year old driver of another vehicle and a passenger were taken to Finley Hospital. The third driver, a 21-year old was reported as injured, but it wasn’t reported if they required hospital treatment.
The State Patrol was assisted by the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department along with Key West Fire and Ambulance.
