The Dubuque Fire Department was called to a fire in a home at 520 Stewart Street. Last night around 7:45 crews responded to the report of a fire coming from the basement of the house. When firemen arrived they found smoke coming from the roof line and at the front door. The fire was extinguished within minutes. All the people inside were already out of the home and there were no injuries. Two cats also made it out safely. The cause was ruled to be from a clothes dryer. Damages were estimated at less than one thousand dollars.
