Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds is ordering all flags in Iowa to be lowered to half-staff from now until sunset of January 28, 2025 in honor and remembrance of former President Jimmy Carter. Carter passed away Sunday at age 100. Flags will be at half-staff on the State Capitol Building and on flag displays in the Capitol Complex. Flags will also be at half-staff on all public buildings, grounds and facilities throughout the state. The White House has appointed January 9, 2025, as a National Day of Mourning throughout the United States.
