Four persons were injured in a 2 vehicle crash in Dubuque County late last week. According to a Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office report the accident happened at around 1 o’clock Thursday afternoon at the intersection of U.S. 151 and Skyline Road. Two Dubuque teens had minor injuries – the driver, 19 year old Joseph Schmitt and a 16 year old passenger were taken to UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital and the driver of the other vehicle, 69 year old Gregory Pithan of Danbury, Iowa and 60 year old passenger were also transported to UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital after complaining of pain. The accident report says Pithan’s vehicle was stopped in the northbound lanes at the Skyline Road intersection. Schmitt, who was driving north on U.S. 151, said he was unable to stop and hit Pithan’s vehicle. Pithan said he did not see Schmitt approaching due to the foggy conditions. Pithan was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway, Schmitt was cited for driving while under suspension.
