A new report shows Dubuque, Jackson, and Jones County were in the minority in the state of Iowa when it comes to farmland values increasing this year.
The annual Iowa State University Land Value Survey found the three counties were among 24 of the 99 counties in the state which saw the value for agricultural land prices rise.
Dubuque County values rose by 3-point-7 percent to an average of $13-thosand 124 dollars per acre. Jones County values rose by 1.8% to an average of $12 thousand 15 dollars per acre, and Jackson County values rose by .1 percent to an average of $11-thousand 169 dollars per acre.
The survey found overall farmland values in Iowa decreased 3.1% from last year statewide, to $11-thousand 467 dollars per acre, ending five straight years of increasing values.
