Five Dubuque County fire departments were called to a house fire on between Bankston and New Vienna. The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department, who also responded, says the fire was reported around 12:20 on Monday afternoon at the Dale and Carlene Langel residence at 15-692 Hickory Valley Road. No one was at home at the time of the fire. Damage was estimated at $180-thousand dollars.
Investigators say the fire appears to have started near the electric box on the side of the house and doesn’t appear to be suspicious.
Members of the New Vienna Fire, Holy Cross, Farley, Dyersville, and Epworth Fire Departments all were at the scene.
