A Dubuque woman will serve a little more than seven years in federal prison after receiving her sentencing on weapons charges.
36-year old Christine Smith recently received the sentence in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, after previously pleading guilty to one count of unlawful transport of firearms.
Smith previously was originally charged in Dubuque County District Court after her arrest for an August 20th incident. Dubuque Police responded to a report of a woman holding a handgun while standing in the area of Bluff and West Locust Streets. Authorities also charged Smith after she had reportedly just threatened another woman with the weapon.
