Former Dubuque Senior Head Football Coach Pleads Not Guilty To Theft-Embezzlement Charges

DUBUQUE COURTHOUSE

The former head football coach at Dubuque Senior High School who previously served as the president of the now dissolved Dubuque Independent Football League has pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree theft-embezzlement and a trial date has been set.  39-year old Darrell Moore entered the written plea earlier this week in Dubuque County District Court and a trial date was then set for February 4th.

Moore was arrested earlier this month and accused of allegedly misappropriating over 47-thousand dollars in the former youth league’s funds from approximately November 2020 until the end of the league in 2023.  Police say bank records for two accounts associated with the league, as well as Moore’s personal account were used in their investigation.

Moore resigned his position as head football coach at Senior High on November 15th.
